EnginPeers LLC ("EnginPeers," "we," "us," or "our") operates the EnginPrep web application, iOS app, and Android app (collectively, the "App") and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App or contact us. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically by us or by third-party service providers integrated into the App. This may include:
- Device type, model, and manufacturer
- Operating system and app version
- Unique device identifiers (e.g., device ID, advertising ID)
- App usage information and session activity
- Diagnostics and performance data
- IP address and general location (country or region)
- Crash logs and error reports
B. Information You Provide to Us
If you create an account or contact us, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as:
- Your name and email address
- Password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
- Study session data and practice history
- The content of any messages you send us
C. Mobile Device Permissions
When you use our iOS or Android app, we may request access to certain device features. We only request permissions that are necessary to provide app functionality:
- Push Notifications — to send study reminders or important updates. You can enable or disable this at any time in your device settings.
- Internet Access — required to load content, sync study progress, and authenticate your account.
We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, or photo library. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App across web, iOS, and Android
- Provide study content and app functionality
- Track your study progress and session history
- Send push notifications, where you have granted permission
- Measure usage and app performance
- Troubleshoot errors and improve reliability
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Protect against misuse, fraud, or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that collect or process data on our behalf, including:
- Supabase — for authentication, database, and backend services
- Vercel — for web hosting and deployment
- Apple App Store — for iOS app distribution; Apple may collect certain data per their own privacy practices
- Google Play Store — for Android app distribution; Google may collect certain data per their own privacy practices
These third parties may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review those policies independently.
4. Push Notifications
If you grant permission, we may send push notifications to your iOS or Android device to remind you of study sessions or notify you of updates. You can opt out at any time through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Notifications → EnginPrep
- Android: Settings → Apps → EnginPrep → Notifications
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App and maintain records. Practice session data is automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With service providers that support app functionality
- If required by law, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect our rights, users, or the security of the App
- In connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition
7. Your Choices
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us at team@enginpeers.com.
On mobile devices, you can manage app permissions at any time through your device's system settings.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information. Account passwords are never stored in plain text. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Users
If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
